You don't have to fend for yourself...
Begin to deal with your health issues with confidence by being a part of the HHCA family. We'll be there, just like family, to assist you with everything from health to personal matters.
Why have a Health Advocate at all?
The medical care system is complex and consumed by a large influx of patients, new prescription drugs, unique medical conditions, a variety of insurance providers and medical plans, and a myriad of treatment options, specialists and providers.
- How do you go about selecting the right specialists?
- Who is overseeing your total medical history and health to know what is right for you?
These questions and more are answered by the services provided by HHCA.
Doctors, nurses and medical staff do their best to care for their patients, but they are also overwhelmed with many patients to care for and insurance claims to process. That is where HHCA steps in and picks up all the missing pieces, so that you can have someone that is intimately aware of your health condition working for you. We learn everything we need to know about you so that we can explain your situation to your health care delivery team, which can make a world of difference in your care.
Our Services
Hands-On Attention: We begin by developing a close relationship with you, to learn everything about your health needs so that we can build the optimal health care strategy to help you effectively manage your health care. You will no longer have to fend for yourself, by yourself. Equipped with a wealth of medical expertise, HHCA will remain by your side as your health advocate, to be an integral part of your medical process.
Information and Education: Medical terminology can be incredibly confusing. Our medically educated staff will keep you from feeling anxious about what you don't know, by giving you answers to your specific questions. We will do the research and provide you with the information you need to formulate a clear understanding. In the end, this reduces errors, because we ask the right questions to the right people at the right time.
Continuity of Care: Our team has over 50 years of combined experience dealing with hospitals, insurance companies and medical providers. We know how to effectively navigate through all of the red tape that can frustrate others.
Communication between busy doctors, hospital staff, specialty doctors and insurance companies is typically less than ideal. Critical information is often lost and can lead to serious complications with treatment. Our physical presence and active intervention will help manage the communication, catch processing errors and address critical issues at the onset, to ensure that you are receiving the attention and care that you deserve.
Security: Rather than simply telling our clients that "everything will be alright", we take specific measures to ensure that you feel that everything that could possibly be done - is being done. HHCA's specific actions are tailored to the client as no two situations are the same. We endeavor to make sure separate care givers have knowledge of each others actions and diagnoses to promote continutity of health care.
Comprehensive Medical History: Severe bottlenecks, delays and errors in health care can occur because medical providers do not receive an up-to-date and concise medical history from their patients in a timely manner. HHCA will proactively contact you every three months to get current information on new developments, prescriptions, specialists and everything else related to your total health care, so that we can maintain your complete medical history on file. This gives you the advantage of compiling and communicating all your information to your medical provider and attending physicians when they need it.
Personalized Attention: When your health matters become complicated, you usually don't have time to deal with pressing personal matters that also need to be handled. We take care of everything, from contacting your family members to let them know of the status of your situation, to reviewing your health insurance claims. We strive to help you manage all of the details so that you can have peace of mind when you need it most.
Resources: By working with HHCA, you will have the same access to the wealth of health care resources that we have. Whether you need home health care, DME (Durable Medical Equipment) providers, ALF (Assisted Living Facilities), occupational or physical therapists, through our network of resources we will ensure you have everything you need to get you on the road to recovery.

"I didn't understand what was going on with my health care. I was confused, alone and scared. When HHCA stepped in I gained control of my situation and I was finally able to make the right decisions about my care..." – HHCA Client
Cost of Services
We take a personal interest in each of our clients and we go as far as treating them just like family, by remaining by their side, paying attention to every detail and taking proactive measures to help them achieve optimal results. Because the health care system is so complex, decentralized and foreign to the average person, it is in the client's best interest to sign up with HHCA before health matters become critical, so that we can obtain a medical history and understand the health condition from the beginning.
Rather than make our clients pay for a membership program, we simply charge an hourly rate for services rendered. In this way, our clients feel better because they are paying for services as they are actually received.
Fees and Services
When you sign up we will conduct in-person visitation to get to know you, complete the application, collect important medical information and gather the necessary HIPAA authorization. In order to defray the cost of establishing you within our system, we charge an initial sign-on fee of $125.
Subsequently, we will charge an hourly rate $125 for our involvement during the course of your care. For complete details of our services feel free to contact us directly.
If you or a loved one is faced with an emergency situation and you would like HHCA to represent you, we can do so even if you are not an active client in our system. However, inactive clients must pay a higher rate to reflect the difference in service. It is harder to represent a client on an emergency basis as contrasted to a client with whom we have already formed a relationship, and we have a completed and updated medical history on file.
Therefore, for a client on an emergency basis, the rate of $175 per hour will be charged for the first 15 hours of service. The client will also be charged an initial fee of $125 to defray the cost of personal visitation. After the first 15 hours a standard rate of $125 per hour will apply.
Payment
Clients can pay with cash, check or credit card, however a valid and active credit card must be kept on file at all times with an authorization to charge the credit card for the HHCA fees. Other financial arrangements are possible if the credit card can not be maintained.

"I didn't know if I was going to need HHCA, but the fee was so reasonable that I signed up just in case. I was so relieved to have them when I was hospitalized for an unexpected heart condition..." - HHCA client
